Astro Tech ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Messages mobile application (the "Service"), available on the Google Play Store. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have under applicable law, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), and the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
By downloading, installing, or using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
While using the Service, we may collect information that can identify you, including:
Automatically collected when you use the app, including device model, operating system and version, unique device identifiers (such as Advertising ID), IP address, mobile network information, and in-app interactions (session length, feature usage, crash logs).
As an SMS/messaging app, we access message content, contacts, and phone state strictly to provide core functionality (sending, receiving, displaying, and organizing texts). This data is processed on your device and is not sold or shared with third parties for advertising purposes.
We and our third-party partners use cookies, SDKs, and similar tracking technologies (session, preference, analytics, and advertising identifiers) to operate, secure, and improve the Service, and to serve relevant advertising. You can limit ad tracking through your device settings (see Section 9).
We only request permissions necessary for the app's core functionality. Each permission is used strictly for the purpose described below — not for unrelated data collection or profiling.

Legal basis for processing (GDPR, where applicable): We process personal data on the basis of (a) performance of a contract (providing the Service you requested), (b) legitimate interests (improving and securing the Service, fraud prevention), (c) consent (optional data such as location or personalized ads, which you may withdraw at any time), and (d) legal obligation (compliance with applicable law).

Astro Tech is based in India. Your information may be collected, stored, and processed in India and other countries — including the United States, where our third-party providers (Google AdMob, Firebase, Google Analytics) operate — which may have different data protection laws than your country of residence.
Where we transfer personal data of EU/EEA or UK residents outside those regions, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognized under GDPR, such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), or transfers to recipients certified under an approved framework, to ensure your data remains protected.
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. SMS and messaging content is processed and stored locally on your device and is not retained on our servers beyond what is required for app functionality (e.g., crash diagnostics).
We use commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures (such as encryption in transit and access controls) to protect your data. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
